Ballet I
Ballet is the foundation of all dance. In our Ballet I class, students will be introduced to basic ballet fundamentals including proper body alignment, core strength, ballet terminology, basic positions and barre techniques.
OUR PROGRAMS
Join our Recreational Stars as they take structured classes that focus on teaching correct technique while having fun along the way. Students receive local performance opportunities throughout the year to help build confidence and showcase their talents.
Ballet is the foundation of all dance. In our Ballet I class, students will be introduced to basic ballet fundamentals including proper body alignment, core strength, ballet terminology, basic positions and barre techniques.
In Ballet II/Pointe, students will expand upon their ballet fundamentals with more terminology, and advanced positions and barre techniques. Students will have a skills test at the end of the year for advancement to Pointe.
A fun way for young children to explore dance and movement, develop physical skills, bolster creativity and learn to connect with others. Students will improve their coordination and self-expression through age-appropriate dance movements.
Students learn beginner floor exercises and tumbling skills using a mat. Emphasis is placed on developing form and technique as they learn beginner and intermediate tumbling stunts. Attention is paid to body awareness and understanding how the body performs through tumbling skills.
In Tumbling I, skills are leveled-up to more advanced floor exercises and tumbling, while ensuring proper form, core strength and technique. Emphasis is placed upon improving previously-learned stunts, adding more advanced acrobatics, and increasing strength, power and momentum.
(Coming Fall 2023) In Tap, dancers develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, syncopation, and speed of movement.
